Pleasantly Surprised It was time for our 5 yr old to move out of the Britax Marathon we have. Our problem is that our child is 41 inches tall, but only weighs 32 lbs. Too tall for a carseat, but not heavy enough (based on safety recomendations) to be in a booster (even the label on the Britax Parkway suggests that the child be 40 lbs).
We researched many carseat/booster combinations (we were really interested in the Recaro Young Sport), but found that eventhough they can keep a child up to 40 lbs in a 5-pt harness, the harness straps were not positioned high enough for a tall skinny kid (when we called a dealer for Recaro, they said that we should buy the Britax Regent). So we purchased the Regent.
We were extremely concerned about the size, as everyone has mentioned how big they are. We have a Mazda 626 and upon installing it, I was pleasantly surprised. Height-wise, the view looking out of my rearview mirror seems to be the same as when I had the Britax Marathon installed. Yes, is a bit wider, (we wouldn't be able to fit a 3rd person in the backseat with a Regent and a Marathon installed) but I don't see any difference between that, and when we had the Marathon and the Britax Companion installed. So far, so good. My child is very excited to ride in the big kid seat, and I'm glad we purchased it despite our concerns about the size.
Nice & Soft Needing a prota-crib sheet for my baby at daycare. at first, I wasn't so sure about getting this on the web, after reading a few good review and no time to go out, decided to give it a try. and I'm happy I did. :)
I recommend this pump When I first brought my daughter home I used a manual pump but that took too long to get just a few ounces. I bought this pump and could pump up to 6 oz. on one breast at a time. I used my pump to build up my stored breastmilk for when my daughter began eating solids. I pumped each morning and sometimes 1-2 times during the night for her first year of life. Once she started weening herself, then my milk supply naturally started to become less and less. However I used this pump each day and was able to have breastmilk stored for my daughter until she was 16 months old. I recommend this pump because of the small, portable size, price, and convenience of using it. Each pumping session took about total of 10 minutes (5 on each breast). Each time I used my pump I only used the plug. I never used the batteries and my motor did not start to go out until the time I stopped pumping. I attribute that to having used it daily for over a year.
Easily damaged We liked this car seat bag when we bought it but it does not hold up well against rough handling. We only got two round trip flights out of it before it was destroyed beyond repair. It got a small tear in it on the flight out and we couldn't get any type of tape to stick to the fabric for a repair. By the time we got home from the return flight the tear had ripped *wide* open, and our car seat was damaged as a result.
LOVE THEM !! My Pedistrician recommended these & my baby girl was noticeably less gassy as soon as I tried them. All babies swallow air but these keep the air out of the formula as they are drinking. Definetly worth the extra effort to clean, once u get used to it it's really easy! At 3 months my girl is sleeping 7pm-6:30am & has one or two nice big burps everytime she feeds! She likes the long neck bottle style.
